It may not have been a white Christmas, but it sure was a beautiful one. We had the pleasure of spending this holiday season with Joey’s mom, sister Carrie, and sister Sarah. As a family, we spent a night in our village meeting our host family, co-workers, and local friends. We also made time to relax in Livingstone visiting the majestic Victoria Falls and Livingstone Island. We even had the chance to visit Botswana for a day safari in Chobe National Park. But the best part was simply spending time with family playing countless games of UNO, watching old episodes of “Golden Girls”, and doing handstands in the pool. The holiday season is certainly more about family than snow and location and we were unbelievably grateful to share Christmas and our experiences with family this year.
Now, as we welcome the year 2011, and settle back into normal life, we are ready to face new challenges and embrace new experiences. This past year has been a year of observing, learning, and following. I am confident this New Year will bring more instructing, teaching, and leading. Happy new year to you all.

Wonderful summary of reflecting on the past year and establishing areas of growth for the coming year. So glad you were with family during the holidays. Big hugs for the Michigan-based Goeb team for making it out to the beautiful continent and sharing their adventures with us. Love to you both, Joy and Joey, for all you are doing and yet to do.
